Love Story On Malaysia

I am a Malaysian Chinese.
I always introduced myself as a Malaysian Chinese when I am among some non-Malaysian friends.
If not, they will think I am from China.
Many of them cannot understand that in Malaysia, we do have many races and one of the big three races in Malaysia is Chinese.

When I started my formal education,
I was introduced with Pendidikan Moral.
I started to know more about Malaysia's culture.
Malaysia is a country with so many races and we learn to know and respect their different cultures.
I learn that Malay does not eat Pork and Indian Hindu does not take beef. The same for the Buddhist Chinese. They do not take beef too due to their religion. We all celebrate different festivals and Malaysia's Government even gazetted all this important festivals as our public holidays. Yeah!!! That's why I fall in love with Malaysia.

When it comes to festive seasons, I love Malaysia more.
Hari Raya Aidilfitri will reminds me of satay, curry, rendang, ketupat, lemang, etc.
When it comes to Chinese New Year, I will never forget to get an angpao at every house I visit (I mean my relatives' houses).
Hari Gawai is my parents' favourite. Tuak is a must when we visit our Dayak's friends' houses. Our Dayak friends can cook very good ayam pangsuh (my saliva dripping liao). Ayam pangsuh is cooking chicken in a bamboo. The soup is very delicious and the water actually comes from the bamboo.
I don't have many Indian friends in Kuching but I always like to eat Nasi Kandar at Gelugor, Penang when I study in USM. I still miss it. If I get a chance to go back to Penang, I will find an apportunity to visit my favorite Nasi Kandar stall again.
See... tell me how I cannot fall in love with my multiraces country.

When I was in Primary Four, we had Alam & Manusia (I dun know if this is one of the must study subject or not). I enjoyed this subject very much. I started to know more about Malaysia's geography. Malaysia is a very rich country. We are blessed with a country with natural gas and petroleum (although we have to pay RM2.70 for a liter of petrol compare to Brunei BND$0.53).
We have tin (which attract the angmoh to our country during WWII), bauxite, gold, coal, etc.
Beside the minerals, we have lots of forest that encourage the expansion of the timber industry. Many rich businessmen in Malaysia should be very thankful with our country's various timber species. *wink* *wink*
This natural resources create various job opportunities especially to our Malaysia citizens. This makes happy Malaysians and happy Malaysians make Malaysia a lovely country. :)

When I was young, I was very very proud to be a Malaysian. If I was to introduced Malaysia, I will ask if they know who is Dr. Mahathir Mohamad. I think he is more popular as Malaysia's Prime Minister than the country itself. hahaha...
When I was young (and very naive too), I was indeed very proud to have a very smart prime minister.

I hope I will always young and naive.
That will make me always think that Malaysia is a wonderful place to live in.
No other place is better than my lovely Malaysia.
No worry, no quarrel, no corruption, no nepotism, no favoritism, no terrorism, no quota :),
no ......., no ........, no ........., (fill in the blank yourself).

Above is an essay especially for QuaChee.
I simply jot down a few and I know there are more to write.
But if the question is Love Story on Kuching, I think I can write better. :)
Well, QuaChee promised to give 100 copies of the 50+1 Malaysia books to the lucky bloggers (worth RM51 each).
I hope I am one of 100 lucky bloggers.
